This course assumes basic knowledge and experience with enterprise LANs, knowledge of enterprise routing and wireless connectivity, and an understanding of the use of Python scripts.

Special features

You will learn how to:

  • Understand the hierarchical network model and architecture using access and distribution layers
  • Configure Spanning Tree Protocol (STP)
  • Configure the EIGRP protocol, including the process of calculating metrics and selecting the best routes
  • Work with OSPFv2 and OSPFv3 protocols
  • Perform network redundancy using Hot Standby Routing Protocol (HSRP) and Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol (VRRP)
  • Apply NAT technology
  • Describe virtualization technologies for servers, switches, network devices, and other network components
  • Describe components and concepts and define wireless network standards, including radio frequency (RF) and antenna characteristics
  • Describe available wireless networking models, including Access Point (AP) and cloud-based designs within the Cisco Wireless LAN Controller (WLC) framework
  • Configure Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP), WebAuth, and Pre-shared Key (PSK) network clients on the WLC
  • Understand how to use network analysis and troubleshooting tools
  • Configure secure access on Cisco IOS devices using CLI, RBAC, ACLs, and SSH
